Roscommon Herald

During the year the Roscommon Herald invited primary school children in county Roscommon to become publishers. Mrs Connaughton registered our school. Ms Harlow helped us with our page because Mrs Connaughton was not in school. We wrote stories about different things we do in school. We used the computers to type our stories. We took some pictures with the digital camera and we scanned in some photo using the scanner.Ms Harlow brought fifth and sixth class down to Boyle to put the page together. Earlier in the year Timmy wrote a story for the infants. This story was published in the Short Story Corner of our school page. Our page was published on Wednesday February 17th 2004 in the Roscommon Herald. It is a very good page and we enjoyed doing the publishing work for the Roscommon Herald.

School Hurling

We play hurling in our school. Every year we participate in the Cumann na mBunscol competition. Last year we played matches against Ballinteva, Taughmaconnell, Summerhill, Fuerty and Four Roads N.S. We reached the Division I county final. We played Tarmon N.S. At half time Tarmon were winning by a goal. In the second half time Brian scored 1_1 and Darren scored a goal. Tarmon scored a goal in dying seconds and we just narrowly defeated them by one point. Brian Donnelly
accepted the trophy from M r Fallon. Our team were Niall Glennon in goal Patrick Fallon and Caitriona Bannon in back Alan Mc Donnell and Brian Donnelly mid field and Darren Donnelly and David Mc Donnell forward. The subs on the day were Jonathon Finnerty, Laura Doyle, Padraic Beattie, Alex Cammerraat, Warren Boyle, John Reed, and Nicolle Reed.
