Discover Primary Science
During Science Week we visited the new Fire Station
in Roscommon. The Firemen let us into the fire engine. It was cool.
we also got to roll up the fire hose. We saw all the equipment that
the firemen use when they are called out to a traffic accident.
We also did lots of
experiments in class.
Our parents came in and we taugt them some science
tricks.
PAINTING OUR SHED
Mrs Connaughton asked us to help her paint a new
mural in our shed.
Aine, her daughter, who is also a teacher came over
to our school to help us design and paint the mural..
We decided to paint each section of the shed with
images from the five continents.
We painted images from Ireland in the middle.
Each pillar has a logo from the continents on it
as well.
We painted the bench green to reperesent the earth.
We painted under the bench blue to represent the
sea.
Aine drew outlined the drawings and we all painted
them in.
Ms Harlow and the children from her room helped
too.
We won a prize for the 'Best use of Art in School
Grounds' in the 2009 Roscommon County Council Tidy Schools Awards.
