Engineering Week 2013

As part of the Engineers’ Week initiative, our pupils from 5th and 6th class will be taking part in a school education trip to the Engineering Department in Athlone IT on Friday 1st March 2013.  They will have the opportunity to visit laboratories and hopefully see some exciting engineering and scientific experiments in action. We’re really looking forward to our trip!!!

About Engineers Week.

Engineers’ Week is a week long programme of nationwide events with the aim of celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland. The aim of the week is to create a positive awareness and spark enthusiasm about the engineering profession to people of various ages with little or no engineering background.

Engineers Week is entering its sixth successive year. The week has been subject to year on year growth with approx. 11,000 taking part in the 2006 and approx. 17,000 taking part in activities nationwide in 2011.

The week is coordinated on a national basis by Engineers Ireland as part of the STEPS programme. To learn more visit www.engineersweek.ie
