Junior Entrepreneur Programme
The senior room are participating in the JEP. On Friday 23rd January we held a “Dragons Den” in our hall. Four teams presented their “ideas” to the dragons. Local business woman, Nuala Dolan of Dolan Foods, kindly took part as a dragon. An enjoyable experience was had by all. The Dragons Den was a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to use their oral language skills, presentation skills, and practical maths. It was an exceptional morning and we are very proud of all the ideas. The “Big Idea” has now been chosen and all pupils will work together to design and create our Green Schools badges for retail.
News2day
TV crews and TV presenter Orla Walsh, from RTE’s News2day children’s TV programme, will visit our school in the coming weeks. They will talk to pupils about the global problem of litter and waste in our oceans. They will edit our own recording of the Skype call to the scientist in December and include pupils in the news bulletin. We are really looking forward to this experience in the coming weeks. The programme will then be aired on News2day.
