Parent Teacher Meetings

Parent Teacher meetings will take place on Thursday 14th December. If this evening is not suitable, the teachers will organise an alternative time/date.

Heritage in Schools Expert

Martin Curley, Historian, has been visiting the senior pupils on Tuesday mornings during Nov/Dec and teaching the pupils about genealogy and the pupils have been investigating their own family history.

Child Safeguarding Policy

Our Child safeguarding policy was updated and ratified at a BOM meeting on 6th November, 2018. This policy is available on request. A copy of the policy is also on the noticeboard in our entrance hallway. 

Environmental Award

Rahara NS has been nominated for an Environmental Award by Roscommon County Council. Mrs Costello and two pupils will attend the award ceremony on Tue evening 11th Dec in Roscommon. Winners will be announced on the night!

Science Week 2018

Science week 2018 took place between 12 – 16 November. The pupils were very busy investigating bridges, loads and weight, filtering water, investigating surface of the moon, making moon biscuits, creating mooon rockets, designing a martian and making Oobleck.

Garda Visit

Garda John O’Connor, community officer, will visit the senior pupils on 4th December to discuss internet safety.

Swimming Lessons

Swimming will take place on Mondays @ 12 noon in Roscommon pool during January and February. Swimming is part of the PE Curriculum and All pupils are expected to participate in lessons.

County photos

A photographer will visit our school on Wednesday 5th December. Pupils are requested to be in full school uniform.

Christmas Holidays

School will close on Friday 21st December at 12 midday for Christmas holidays and re-open on Monday 7th January 2019. (Don’t forget your swimming gear!)

Pupils may wear their Christmas jumpers on the day of the holidays!
